After a ridiculously long climb on a combination of winding roadways and narrow staircases, I make my way up Telegraph Hill to get to Coit Tower.

The tower - all 210 feet of it. It was built in 1933 to “beautify the City of San Francisco”. That may sound strange now but after the major earthquake of 1908, the city needed a lot of work to bring the city back to its grand stature.
