JW Marriott Hotel Nara
I was only Gold Elite with Marriott Bonvoy at the time of my stay at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara | @jwmarriottnara and while I would have gotten some perks with that status, it wouldn’t be anywhere close to what I got by booking with the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program. Breakfast every day would have been nice enough but then there was also the matter of a whopping ¥50800 ($325 USD) hotel credit when the program standard was $100 and that put this stay over the top. That credit covered my post-marathon lunch, a glass of Taylor Fladgate 40 Year Tawny, AND a 90-minute massage. Insane. Incredible as well.
