In Boston for the weekend and with my plans for the night cancelled (thanks, Beryl), I took in a concert at Middle East. Middle East has several concert rooms - think Knitting Factory in NYC; this concert was in the "Upstairs" venue. With the mics and amps for Yoni Gordon's set off the floor and out of the way, it was time for Eli "Paperboy" Reed & The True Lovers to take the stage. He may be from Boston but Eli's music is all soul and blues. During Yoni Gordon's set, I asked Eli Reed for a candid shot; he obliged.
