I was only Gold Elite with Marriott Bonvoy at the time of my stay at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara | @jwmarriottnara and while I would have gotten some perks with that status, it wouldn’t be anywhere close to what I got by booking with the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program.

Have you ever run a marathon alongside and through deer? If not, may I recommend the Nara Marathon | @naramarathon_official?

A walk in the (Nara) Park to Tōdai-ji 東大寺, where I got to hang out with a bunch of friendly deer.

I would be hard-pressed to describe the Nintendo Museum as, well, a museum. Think of it as more of a glorified product display with some historical notes (none of which could be photographed). BUT! It was a very thorough and well-constructed display of video game history. If you go into this with that in mind and then you get to the interactive parts? You’re gonna have a good time.

The experience going to Osaka via Seoul in Korean Air Prestige Class, with a stop and a much-needed shower at the Korean Air Prestigle Lounge at ICN.

My Korean Air flight to Osaka via Seoul was out of Terminal 1 but their lounge there is… lacking. Prestige Class gets me access to the Delta One Lounge so even though it was in a different terminal, I decided to have dinner there so I had the option of skipping the first meal service, which is not the worst idea on a flight departing after midnight. As always, this lounge slapped.

2025 has been a tough year for me so so many reasons and a consequence was a very poor training block for fall marathoning. Still, none of that mattered when the day of the New York City Marathon | @nycmarathon hits. I’ve said it so many times in the past but I will gladly say it again - it’s the best fucking day of the year in New York City.

Checked out the soft opening for the Eckhart Beer Co. | @eckhartbeer taproom in Bushwick - this is gonna be a solid addition to the neighborhood.
